H1N1 the scary virus

I am a very worried mother. We stay in Pune and we have a five year old son. Life was going on fine till the H1N1 hit our city. In August Schools closed down and reopened again after 2 weeks.

But we didn't have the courage to send our child to school. Whole of August and September we didn't see the outside world. We were too scared to go out. My husband used to go out for shopping wearing 3 layers of surgical masks. People were dying everyday of  all age groups. It was so scary. But I was so suprised to see that the media suddenly and abruptly stopped showing anything related to H1N1. WHY... When they were showing swine flu cases people were taking it seriously and atleast 50% population of Pune were wearing mask. But as soon as media stopped showing swine flu cases 90% stopped wearing any kind of mask and started spitting every where and coughing on your face. Then we were all waiting eagerly for the vaccine. We though (God knows why we were so sure) the imported vaccine will come to India by end of October. God knows what our government is planning. They didn't bother about it much. Vaccination has started in US and other developed countries. But a second thought is the vaccine ok. Why most of the Americans are not ready to take it. We can only find out if it comes to India.

In late October Pune's condition is improving. I guess H1N1 can't survive above 28 degree. So we are bit relaxed and we are praying there will be no second wave. I have done bit of my own research. I am no scientist but somehow I am assuming is this H1N1 virus natural or did it leaked out from some American laboratory in Mexico. Whatever...Well we common people always suffer... and some developed countries revive their economy on our deadbodies....

Lets all pray there are no more casualities and never get to hear again about this dangerous virus

Imported H1N1 vaccine

I wish Mr Azad allows import of foreign vaccine for general public. We are waiting eagerly for that as you said. I read he is just importing for health workers. I know they must get it first. But we need it too and ready to pay any price for it. We want foreign vaccine made by Baxter, GSK or Novartis. Hopefully we will get it by March next year. Thats the request we can make to Mr Azad please get us the foreign vaccine by February once your clinical trials are over.

H1N1 in Pune

I agree with you completely. In fact nothing has changed in December. I am a Puneite and I can see how reluctant people are to accept the reality. Schools are still having same problem. Every other day we come to know 3-4 kids are infected in so and so school. Still parents are moving around partying like mad. Like you said we are all waiting eagerly for the vaccine. Hopefully it will come soon. Lets pray the imported vaccine comes by January.

Vaccine

It is a really good question what's with the vaccine. Personally I don't think the vaccine is enough ready to take it. They started to use in the US to test on the people. But they give it to the citizens in Hungary, Bulgary, all Eastern Europe. I don't think we will find out if the vaccine does work in the next some years. But there will be a nice testing area when people will live or get something from the vaccine or just die in swine flu. Well whatever happens I am happy I didn't take the vaccine.

I think the biggest effort you can have that keep yourself and your families clean and try to avoid unhyginic people around you or going to not clean places.

Homeopathic remedies help as well. Try to get Echinacea 500 for your immune system (follow the instructions!!!) and C vitamin with Zinc.

And in the meantime if you want to get more information, read this book:

P. S.: I had swine flu and there are loads of people who have in London. But we live. Everything is all about make your immune system strong. And if you have swine flu do not go out anywhere. It takes 7 days to get through on it. Sometimes you feel ok, in the next minute you feel like having a fish tank on your head. Drink a lot of water, take the Echinacea and the C vitamin. And rest. Sleep a lot. And don't be afraid. Swine flu kills only the already ill or weak people. And those who have overinfections. Overinfection comes usually from uncleanness and unhygienic people around the ill person.

So if you make sure to avoid these places or people (especially when you are ill), you will go through on this illness and will follow your life in safe like before.

Anyway if you get the flu and go through on it, after your immune system will be guarded against the virus. So it is kind of good to get the virus. Of course if you have a safe, clean enviroment to live through the 7 days that it takes.

H1N1 the scary virus

Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu, pig flu and sometimes, the swine) is an infection by any one of several types of swine influenza virus. Swine influenza virus (SIV)  pocket watches is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs. As of 2009, the known SIV strains include influenza C and the subtypes of influenza A known as H1N1, H1N2, H3N1, H3N2, and H2N3.Swine influenza virus is common throughout pig populations worldwide. Transmission of the virus from pigs to humans is not common and does not always lead to human influenza, often resulting only in the production of antibodies in the blood. If transmission does cause human influenza, it is called zoonotic swine flu. People with regular exposure to pigs are at increased risk of swine swatch watches  flu infection. The meat of an infected animal poses no risk of infection when properly cooked.During the mid-20th century, identification of influenza subtypes became possible, allowing accurate diagnosis of transmission to humans. Since then, only 50 such transmissions have been confirmed. These strains of swine flu rarely pass from human to human. Symptoms of zoonotic   movado watches swine flu in humans are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort. The recommended time of isolation is about five days.
